Recipe: Apple Tea Cake

Apple Tea Cake

Ingredients for main cake:
1 Egg
1/3 Cup Milk
1 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 Green Apple
1 Cup Self-Raising Flour
1/2 Cup Caster Sugar
65 Grams of Butter
Ingredients for topping:
2 Teaspoons Caster Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

Method:

  1. Line a round cake tin and pre-heat oven to 180°C.
  2. Blend butter, sugar, egg and vanilla together until combined.
  3. Mix in flour and milk.
  4. Place mixture into cake tin.
  5. Core and cut apple into slices and arrange on top of cake mixture in pretty pattern.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into cake comes out clean.
  7. Stand for a few minutes before overturning  onto a wire rack to cool.
  8. Mix cinnamon and caster sugar in a bowl and sprinkle on top of cake (ensuring apple slices are showing).
  9. Serve cold on its on or with some cream or ice-cream.
